JTK Power launched the IVL-1 ventilation unit to the market in early April. This ventilation unit, designed for civil defense shelters, has been under development at JTK Power for 1.5 years.

With decades of experience in civil defense doors and hatches, JTK Power developed the ventilation unit to offer clients a comprehensive solution for civil defense shelters that includes ventilation. The unit was designed in response to customer needs, carefully following all relevant laws and regulations.

The Ventilation Unit is Tested and Approved by VTT

The development project was extensive, involving numerous tests and ensuring the functionality of each component. The entire structure of the unit is approved by VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland). The ventilation unit includes an activated carbon filter that removes various chemical agents. It has also undergone flow tests and shock load tests to measure the structure’s resilience, simulating impacts like a bomb blast.

As part of Finland’s national defense, the product must be highly reliable and meet all criteria. Each component has been designed with the best possible outcome in mind.

Operates Manually in Emergencies

The ventilation unit operates electrically but is equipped with manual operation, allowing it to be used manually in emergencies. It is suitable for various civil defense shelters, such as those in large apartment buildings, schools, hospitals, and other facilities.
